The future of food and agriculture: trends and challenges

Ongoing trends at world level are nowadays emphasized and new trends are emerging: a rise in the world population and in the share of people living in urban areas, competition for natural resources, climate change and extreme weather events, food security, poverty and malnutrition, obesity, income inequality. All these trends imply challanges also for the agri-food sector which is undergoing deep structural changes. The seminar will present these main trends and related challanges with the aim of providing an overview of widely discussed issues.
